The Symptoms of Heart Disease
Heart disease is one of those silent killers for which it
is important to watch. However, in order to identify heart disease in
yourself or those around you, you need to be at least somewhat familiar with
the symptoms associated with it. With that in mind, here are a few of the
more common symptoms of heart disease and what they mean to you and those
you care about.
The first of the symptoms you should watch for is angina. Angina is a
medical terms for chest pain. This, like many other symptoms of this disease
is also a symptom of heart attack. That means that no matter the reason,
chest pain is something of which everyone should be aware.
Shortness of breath is something that you should also be aware of. While it
is definitely a symptom of heart disease, it is also something that can be a
sign of other problems. Shortness of breath can be anything from a heart
attack to asthma, but no matter what it is, you should be aware of it and
seek treatment if you experience it for any significant amount of time.
Dizziness can also be a symptom of this disease. If you experience dizziness
after exercise or at times when it would not be expected (like if you are
ill), then you should seek medical attention. Like many of the symptoms of
heart disease, dizziness can also be an indication of a heart attack or
great pulmonary problem.
As you can see, the basic symptoms for most any heart problem, whether it be
disease or attack, are very similar. That is why you should always be aware
of how you are feeling and never dismiss such symptoms. By understanding
these heart disease warning signs and being aware of your own body, you give
yourself a better chance of catching the problem before it becomes too big. |
